Weight Management Eligibility
Our weight management program is tailored to provide safe, effective medical support. To ensure patient safety, we adhere to strict clinical guidelines. Please review the following disqualifying criteria to determine if our telehealth treatments are right for you.
- Current pregnancy or plans to become pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- History of medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- History of pancreatitis or severe gallbladder disease
- Active eating disorder (e.g., anorexia or bulimia)
- Severe renal impairment or end-stage kidney disease
- BMI below 26
- Current cancer treatment with radiation/chemotherapy
- Recent weight loss surgery within the last 12 months
- Prior organ transplant
- Insulin or other type 2 diabetes medications use
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Certain chronic medications used for pain

You have active gallbladder disease or symptoms such as gallbladder attacks

You have a history of gallstones with ongoing symptoms

You have moderate to severe gastrointestinal conditions, such as gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or diverticular disease

You have diabetic retinopathy
- Under 18
- Additional Requirement for Patients Age 70 and Older:
Patients over the age of 70 may be asked to provide recent laboratory results (within the past 12 months), including a comprehensive metabolic panel, hemoglobin A1c, thyroid function (TSH), and lipid panel. These labs can be ordered during the initial visit if needed (additional fee).
Steps to Receiving Weight Management Medication
Step 1 – Booking Video or Chat Visit (State dependent)
Book a video visit or schedule a chat visit for those eligible states below.
Step 2 – Complete Visit
Complete either your video visit or chat visit with your provider.
Step 3 – Prescription Setup
Once approved, your provider sends your tailored prescription to your preferred pharmacy.
Step 4 – Continuous Support
Get ongoing support with follow-up visits to monitor results and adjust your plan as needed. All states allow for refills with the chat feature.
Asynchronous (Chat) Visit Option
When appropriate and permitted based on your state regulations, your care may be provided through an asynchronous chat visit. This means you will communicate with your provider through secure messaging rather than a live video visit. If you prefer this option, please send a message through the chat after scheduling your video visit, and your appointment will be converted to a chat visit as appropriate. Please note that this option is not available for patients aged 70 years and older.
Your provider will review your submitted information and respond within an appropriate timeframe. Additional follow-up questions or recommendations may be provided through the chat.

- Some conditions may still require a live video visit for further evaluation
Asynchronous (chat) visits are currently available for patients located in the following states at the time of care:
Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Washington
You must be physically located in one of the approved states at the time of your visit in order to receive care via chat. Patients located in Alaska, Indiana, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming require an initial video visit per state regulations. All refills can be completed via chat for all states.
Please note:
- Medications are not included in the cost of the clinician evaluation
- Prescriptions, if appropriate, will be sent to your pharmacy
- Medication costs are separate and paid directly to the pharmacy.

- BMI Eligibility: Qualifications require a BMI ≥ 26.
- Safety Goals: Our objective is healthy, sustainable weight loss monitored through metabolic balance and vital sign tracking.
- Treatment Adherence: Patients must commit to regular chat visits for dose adjustments and continuous assessment.
- Side Effect Monitoring: Rapid reporting of any side effects is mandatory to ensure medication safety and dosage optimization.
- Clinical Policies: Patients are responsible for providing accurate health histories and adhering to the prescribed pharmaceutical regimen as directed by our providers.

We provide transparent pricing for all our weight management visits, ensuring you can focus on your health journey without financial surprises.
Visit fees do not include medication costs. These fees are for consultation and clinician services only. Weight loss medications are purchased separately through the pharmacies listed below.
Initial Weight Management Consultation (Chat)

Weight Loss Medication Refill (Chat Visit)

Ongoing prescription management to ensure seamless continuation of your therapy. These visits are completed using the patient portal chat feature for your convenience once your monthly refill review has been purchased. This refill review includes your monthly clinician review and chat access to your clinician throughout the month. Once purchased please message your provider in the patient portal. If you would prefer a follow-up via video please choose the Weight Management Follow-Up Visit option.
